Custom Valve Index Prescription Lenses
These custom Valve Index prescription lens inserts are designed for users who need vision correction inside the headset without wearing regular eyeglass frames.
The fitted inserts sit over the Valve Index lens area and provide prescription correction based on the values you enter when ordering. They also create a physical barrier between everyday eyeglass frames and the headset optics, helping reduce the risk of direct lens-to-lens contact.
Choose Prescription Lenses for vision correction or Plano Lenses if you do not require prescription power. Anti-glare and scratch-resistant coatings are included.
How to Enter Your Prescription
Enter the prescription values for your right eye (O.D.) and left eye (O.S.) exactly as they appear on your current eyeglass prescription.
- SPH: Sphere value for nearsightedness or farsightedness. Minus (-) values indicate nearsightedness, while plus (+) values indicate farsightedness.
- CYL: Cylinder value for astigmatism. Select 0.00 if your prescription does not include a CYL value.
- AXIS: Required when your prescription includes a CYL value. Enter the AXIS exactly as written on your prescription.
- PD: Pupillary distance. PD is optional on the order form, but we recommend providing it if available. If your prescription lists separate right and left PD measurements, select the separate PD option and enter both values.

Use your eyeglass prescription rather than a contact lens prescription, as contact lens values are not always interchangeable with eyeglass prescription values.
If your prescription values are not available in the options above, or you need help with a high prescription or other custom requirement, please contact us before ordering.
How to Install Valve Index Prescription Lenses
Watch the installation tutorial below before fitting your Valve Index prescription lens inserts. The fitted design does not require special tools.
Valve Index Compatibility & Fit
These prescription lens inserts are designed specifically for the Valve Index headset. They are not universal inserts for HTC Vive, Vive Pro or other SteamVR headsets.
The inserts use a secure friction-fit design that seats over the Valve Index lens area and can be removed when the headset is being cleaned or shared with someone who does not require prescription correction.
Valve Index allows the lens position and field of view to be adjusted. Because prescription inserts add a small amount of space in front of the original headset lenses, adjust the eye-relief/FOV control slightly outward if the inserts or your eyelashes feel too close.
Do not force the inserts into place. Follow the installation video above and make sure each insert is seated correctly before using the headset.
